Raniero Speelman M. (1957- )     

Born in 1957 in The Hague, the Netherlands
Took his M.A. in Italian Literature at Leyden University in 1981 and afterwards studied History of Art at Leyden University and Turcology at Utrecht University.
From 1983-1987, Assistant Professor of Italian Literature at Leyden, from 1987 at Utrecht University
Ph.D. in 1993 at Leyden University (subject: La versione del Bestiaire d'Amours tràdita dal codice Magliabechiano II.IV.29)
From 1993 Associate Professor of Italian Literature at Utrecht University, mainly active on the field of Renaissance and Modern Literature and of translation studies.
